School Differences in Indonesia and Australia

Expressing Opinions Opportunity

Schools in Australia have a class with the smaller size of Indonesia (at most 30 students). Class sizes allow students to actively express their opinions and creativity. Problem children were getting education teacher assistant so that every child can pay attention in class well.

Indonesian schools have an average of between 30-45 students in each class. This makes Indonesia the students have the opportunity to express opinions that are smaller than the Australian students. Not enough time to listen to each student because too many students. There is no education assistant for students with problems, so maybe once that there are students who feel no attention because the teacher noticed the other students.

Setting Up exam grade or Not

In Indonesia, there are exams every semester, every year, and for certain classes is a national exam. The results of this test was to determine whether they will take classes and live classroom. In Australia there is also a test, but the children will still take the class after their exam results. The differences affect the nature of this test attitudes of students in school.

In Indonesia, the teachers can not ignore the test, so they try to teach what the students will be tested. Indonesia pupils will be more serious and easily manageable to learn because if you do not learn they will fail the test. And if it fails the test, they do not take the class and they will be embarrassed. Social sanctions do not take classes in my opinion quite heavy. Pupils are not going to lose the next grade classmates (because his friends climbed into a higher level while he was not) and is considered a fool by his social environment. Therefore students will really try to take the class.

In Australia, although no tests, kids do not learn anything is not a problem, because if they fail to keep up the class. This makes Australian students more relaxed and more unruly.

Life in the Out of School

Homework (PR)

In Indonesia, the teachers give homework and group work. This situation makes the disciples Indonesia provides 1-3 hours of time each day for homework or group work. While in Australia the teachers tried to not give homework. All work done in school, so that Australian teenagers have more time to rest or play.

Extracurricular Activities

In Indonesian schools, there are many extracurricular activities in which students are required to choose one activity. Activities that are usually accompanied by teachers after school started and lasted approximately 1.5 hours. Therefore, students can be active at school from 7 o'clock in the morning until 4 o'clock in the afternoon. They do not have much free time to play because of homework after school may have to wait to be done. While in Australia, the students do not stay in school after class. They had to go home or seek their own activities.

Les / Tutorial

Still related to the test is considered as something very important, Indonesian students who feel less able to understand the lessons learned to additional leave in the evening at the institutions. There is also a vote called tutors come to the house.

The conclusion can I draw from the circumstances at the leisure of students is more limited compared to Indonesia with Australian students. The rest is, they are the same activities as the teenagers in the world. Some like sports, some like to pursue music, some like to play PS some love reading books and others.
